Spirit of Caring Celebration

The United Way's Volunteer Reader Program helps to foster a love of reading for preschoolers throughout King County.

The United Way of King County Spirit of Caring Celebration event is held annually to recognize and thank organizations and individuals who are committed to giving back to the community. Held on 19 March at the Sheraton Seattle, the awards ceremony honored individuals selected by a special judging committee for their commitment and dedication to United Way. The event also presented workplace awards for overall campaign excellence and consistent campaign giving. Businesses are integral to United Way’s success, providing leadership, insight on community issues, volunteerism, and the financial resources essential to building a strong community. The United Way of King County supports human services in the community, including after-school activities, domestic violence prevention, senior services, disaster preparation, and job training programs.

BergerABAM employees annually contribute to a corporate United Way campaign. This past year, firm employees generously contributed $32,566, a 10 percent increase from the previous year. The company also contributed a corporate gift of $4,500, taking the total donation to United Way in 2012 to $37,066. As a result of the firm’s successful campaign, BergerABAM was nominated for The Boeing Company Sustaining Supporter Award for a demonstrated pattern of giving at a consistent level for the past five years.

The firm realizes that making a contribution requires a certain amount of personal sacrifice, and BergerABAM is proud that a number of our employees chose to make that sacrifice and investment in their community.
