Largest Single Donation to WSU Vancouver’s Food Pantry

BergerABAM's donations will be equivalent to 1,350 meals for students in need.

This October, the BergerABAM Vancouver office participated in a friendly interoffice contest to raise donations for the Washington State University (WSU) Vancouver’s Student Services, Cougar Food Pantry. The company’s participation raised over 1,500 pounds of food for students in need.

The program was established five years ago and aims to provide students with meal options, whether a student is struggling to afford a meal or forgets to pack a lunch for a long day, the Cougar Food Pantry provides access to healthful foods when needed.
The organization obtains most of its inventory through donations made by individuals at WSU Vancouver and the surrounding community. BergerABAM’s donation of dry goods and cash donations, which WSU spends on fresh produce, will be equivalent to 1,350 meals—the largest single donation the Cougar Food Pantry has ever received since its inception.

In a message of appreciation, Beth Cozzi, assistant director of development from WSU Vancouver Student Services, wrote, “Food insecurity is an issue in our community and providing meals through the Cougar Food Pantry helps students stay on track to completing their degrees. Choosing between groceries and school expenses should not be a decision any student should have to make.”
