San Diego Convention Center Parking Structure

San Diego, California

The San Diego Convention Center hosts national and international conventions and trade shows and has generated $20.9 billion in economic impact since opening in 1989. To allow for the high volume of visitors each year, the Port of San Diego selected BergerABAM Flores Lund Consultants to develop a new six-level parking structure for approximately 2,000 cars on a 12-acre site adjacent to the convention center.

Site development included grading, paving, and underground utility infrastructure covering an area more than 8 acres in size. Off-site public improvements were also included for more than 2,000 feet of frontage along Convention Center Way. The elaborate design process included coordination with the building plans for the San Diego Convention Center Hilton Hotel.
