BergerABAM provided the preliminary design and evaluation of different foundation and bridge superstructure types, in addition to developing schedule and cost estimates for each alternative.
BergerABAM worked to develop a preferred alternative that had the least environmental impact on the river, yet was economical to build. The design was included in the contract documents to ensure the proper item costs were included in the bid price and the permits for the project, as well as the design of the bridge itself, were properly coordinated with the details of the temporary structures.
BergerABAM's plan quality and attention to construction issues resulted in competitive bids and ensured the project could be built within the established budget. The average of all bids was very close to the engineer's estimate.
