East Multorpor Highway 26 Overcrossing

Government Camp, Oregon

The very busy Mount Hood Highway (U.S. Highway 26) divides the village of Government Camp and takes campers and skiers from the Portland metro area east to Mount Hood. While widening the narrow crossing over the highway and installing sidewalks would provide a safer and more functional crossing for pedestrians, bicyclists, skiers, and vehicles, the construction would impact surrounding wetlands. BergerABAM worked with project engineers throughout the design phase to minimize environmental impacts when they could not be avoided entirely. Once the final design was approved by Clackamas County, BergerABAM worked with local, state, and federal agencies to secure natural resources permits.
