Northwest Lake Road/Southeast First Street Improvements

Camas, Washington

The City of Camas proposed to improve a 2-mile stretch of roadway along Northwest Lake Road and Southeast First Street. BergerABAM delineated and assessed the wetlands and the project's potential impacts. Road design alternatives were also evaluated for their impacts to wildlife and habitat, particularly those associated with the crossing of Dwyer Creek. Staff prepared a Section 404 permit and developed a wetland mitigation plan for review by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. As the project was partially funded by federal monies, a biological assessment was prepared for review by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Marine Fisheries Service. BergerABAM ensured project compliance with the Washington State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) and prepared a SEPA checklist and a documented National Environmental Policy Act categorical exclusion.
