Utility Operations/Maintenance Endangered Species Act Compliance

Clark County, Washington

BergerABAM worked with Clark Public Utilities (CPU) to develop a strategy to ensure the agency's future projects, operations, and maintenance projects complied with the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Because Clark County contains streams and rivers where endangered fish listed under the ESA are known to occur, CPU could have a direct or indirect effect through its ongoing operations and maintenance or the future location of electrical or water utility services. BergerABAM prepared an ESA compliance plan for CPU's operations and worked with applicable federal, state, and local agencies, including the National Marine Fisheries Service, to negotiate plan approval.
