Agency Ordinance Review and Case Studies

Camas, Washington

The City of Camas hired BergerABAM to review and field test its 2003 and 2004 draft wetland and fish and wildlife habitat ordinances before they went into effect. Staff field-assessed the mapped wetlands and fish and wildlife areas for three selected properties. Based on the findings, BergerABAM developed a table and maps to compare the draft ordinance requirements for wetland and fish and wildlife habitat buffers and mitigation. BergerABAM's work assisted the City in determining whether environmental functions and values were maintained and assessing the potential loss of property development. BergerABAM also presented wetland and fish and wildlife findings to the City Council.
