With the area developing fast, the Port of Camas-Washougal wanted to determine whether to change the type of industrial development on 127 acres of its property from heavy industrial to business park, and whether it should consider selling the property as opposed to leasing it. BergerABAM assisted the Port with the completion of a planning, public involvement, and economic assessment process to answer the question. Staff helped the Port develop a set of guiding principles and clarified them in Commission workshops, which presented essential information to Port Commissioners so that they could reach an informed decision on the status of the property. The extensive public involvement process included stakeholder interviews, facilitated Commission work sessions, news releases, public displays, newsletter articles, and media management.
